Cycling makes you younger!

Or at least make your heart effectively younger. According to cardiologist Dr Ben Levine, regular aerobic exercise like cycling can make the heart of a 50 year old like that of a 35 year old. Read the article here:

More on the Underpass

The new underpass connects the Railyard to the Acequia trail, going through the West Railyard, the Baca Street area, Ashbaugh Park, The new location of the Madela School, and ending in the Ottowi/Osage neighborhood. Long term plans are to make a connection from Maez Road to Rufina Street, which is a good bicycle road out to the South Meadows in the southwest part of town.

Acequia Underpass now open

The long awaited underpass is finally done. It connects the Acequia Trail dehind the NM Schoof of the Deaf to the Railyard.

NMDOT Bike Survey

Tell the Department of Transportation where you would like to bike, where you would bike if it were safer, better paved, bike lanes, ect. I would mention NM466, St. Michael's Drive, as needing bike lanes. Here is the link to the survey:

Hays Apple Farm Cyclocross

One of NM coolest cross races is this Saturday, December 17th in Bosque Farms. Registration starts at 10, races at 11. See for details.
